Making a New Year’s Resolution to drive smarter will increase your chances of adhering to your other resolution(s)
As we head into 2018 and begin to implement our New Year’s Resolutions, it is important to reflect on what is truly important to members of the 2040 Matters community. First, we care about saving lives, which is why we often write about national security policy. Second, we care about economic growth and wage stagnation, which is why most of our Posts discuss economic matters. Third, we recognize that a key generational duty is to serve as good stewards of the environment.
The goals of Driving2Save.com are entirely consistent with the values of 2040 Matters. The Site is dedicated to helping people save lives, money, and the planet every time they get behind the wheel. You probably did not know, for example, that hundreds of Americans die every year in traffic accidents caused by underinflated tires. Driving2Save is trying to reduce these fatalities. Like most Americans, you also probably didn’t know that you could save roughly $500/year on gasoline by making small adjustments to your driving behavior. Think about it: That’s like getting a $500/year pay raise. And you probably didn’t know that if you saved money by increasing your fuel efficiency, you would also help reduce childhood asthma and greenhouse gas emissions.
For all these reasons, we encourage you to make Driving2Save one of your New Year’s Resolutions. If you pledge to follow one or more of their driving smarter tips, you will also increase your chances of sticking with one of your other resolutions relating to improved health, reduced debt, or increased quality time with friends and family. For more ideas on how to pair Driving2Save with one of your existing resolutions, please visit their Driving Matters Page.
We wish you a happy and successful 2018.
